The Space-Evfimiyevsky Monastery is the great Orthodox friary in Suzdal, Russia. It was founded in the 14th century. With its size and appearance, it reminds a medieval castle.
The monastery is surrounded by the large fortifications strengthened by 12 towers. From a viewing point, you can observe a beautiful panorama of the Kamenka River and the Pokrovsk monastery.
On the territory of the Spaso-Evfimiyevsky Monastery, you can also observe a magnificent Transfiguration Cathedral, the house of the archimandrite, the prison case, and several small churches.
A particular interest of visitors is attracted by a tomb of the prince Dmitry Pozharsky – the hero of a national militia fought against the Polish-Lithuanian aggressors.
