Sparrow Hills

Sparrow Hills is one of the most well-known parks in the capital of Russia. Located in the southwest of Moscow, it represents the high right bank of Moskva River.

A huge green park easily leaves us a reputation as one of the most popular places of resort in Moscow. You can enjoy a great city panorama from the observation platform lies 85 m (279 ft) above the river or 200 m (660 ft) above sea level. The observation platform gives a magnificent panoramic view of the city.

From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of one of the best academic institutions in Russia – Moscow State University. Also, you’ll have a chance to see the Luzhniki (former Lenin) Stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1980 Summer Olympics were held. A little further from the observation platform is the Luzhniki Metro Bridge. Connecting Komsomolsky Prospekt with Vernadsky Prospekt, it has two levels for diverse transport systems: motor vehicles and the Moscow Metro subway.

There are not so many sights in Moscow which are highly involved in the life of every citizen of the capital of Russia. Wedding trains with newly-weds, artists, and writers admiring a city panorama, school students celebrating their Graduation, students having a rest in the park and athletes-skiers having training… All these you can see here, in the territory of Sparrow Hills. In a word, if the Kremlin is the heart of the capital, then Sparrow Hills — is not less than it’s soul.
