Day 1: Arrival to Kyiv

Arrive in Kyiv and transfer to you hotel. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Kyiv.

Day 2: Kyiv

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kyiv city center: Bessarabskyi Market, Golden Gates, Volodymyrskaya Street and the St. Sophia Cathedral. Discover the secrets of the St. Andrew’s Church followed by a stroll down Andrew’s Descent Street. After lunch, walk along famous Khreshchatyk street and Maidan Square. Overnight in Kyiv.

Day 3: Kyiv

Kiev Pechersk Lavra, the orthodox monastery, Kyiv

After breakfast, visit Kyiv Pechersk Lavra with its famous caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue to the Motherland Monument built in the memorial complex of the World War II Museum where you can see impressive administrative and historical buildings such as House of the Weeping Widow, Chocolate House and Red Castle. Overnight in Kyiv.

Day 4: Kyiv – Kamianets-Podilskyi

After breakfast, drive to the historic region of Podolia in the western part of the country. After lunch, explore Kamianets-Podilskyi town, known for its well-preserved Old Town and Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle, a medieval fortress featuring several original towers. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Smotrich River Canyon and the Kamianets-Podilskyi fortress. Overnight in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

Day 5: Kamianets-Podilskyi – Chernivtsi – Yaremche, the Carpathians

After breakfast, travel to the Carpathians making a stop at the Khotyn fortress, a fortification complex located on the right bank of the Dniester River. The fortress is situated on a territory of the historical northern Bessarabia region which was split in 1940 between Ukraine and Moldova. Continue to a cozy European-style city of Chernivtsi. After lunch at a local Bukovinian restaurants, enjoy a two-hour walking tour including the National University. Drive to Yaremche. Overnight in Yaremche.

Day 6: Carpathians – Yaremche – Verhovyna

After breakfast, we drive to Verhovyna to see traditional mountain villages and learn more about Ukrainian ethnical group Hutsuls. Visit the museum of musical instruments and the Vyshyvanka museum. A home-made lunch will be served at a private house of one of the museum’s owners to let you experience the life of locals. Overnight in Yaremche.

 

Day 7: Yaremche, the Carpathians – Lviv

After breakfast, enjoy some free time in Yaremche. Continue to Ivano-Frankivsk. After lunch at a Galician restaurant-museum, enjoy a 2-hour walking tour of the city including the Market Square, the City Hall and the Armenian Church. Drive to Lviv and transfer to you hotel. Overnight in Lviv.

 

Day 8: Lviv

Lviv, Opera and Ballet Theatre

After breakfast, enjoy a 6-hour walking tour including the Rynok Square, the Dominican Church and the Boim Chapel – a monument of religious architecture in Cathedral Square. After lunch, visit the Opera and Ballet Theater built in the classical Neo-Renaissance tradition, and is considered one of the most beautiful Opera Houses in Europe. Overnight in Lviv.

Day 9: Lviv

After breakfast, walk to the Lviv High Castle, a historic castle located on the top of the Castle Hill offering some of the best views of the city. Discover “The House of Scientists”, the building of the former noble casino, is one of the Lviv most amazing and perfect architectural structures. Continue to the St. George’s Cathedral, a great example of the Rococo architecture which serves as the main Greek-Catholic Church of the region. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Lviv.

Day 10: Lviv – Departure

After breakfast and check out, transfer to the airport. Departure. [B]
