Day 1

Arrival in Funchal > Funchal (Monte > Picos dos Barcelos > Eira do Serrado)

Arrival at Madeira airport, assistance and transportation to the chosen hotel. In the afternoon, locally informed, departure towards the old town and ride on the cable car up to Monte, providing spectacular views over the Funchal. Exterior visit to the Our Lady of Monte Church. Continuation of the tour to Pico dos Barcelos, to admire one of the most beautiful panoramas of the city of Funchal. We head towards the viewpoint of Eira do Serrado, which is situated at an altitude of 1,094 m, where one can contemplate a stunning landscape over the village of Curral das Freiras, which many have considered to be built in the crater of a volcano. Return to the hotel.

Note: In order to meet the day schedule, arrival in Funchal on this day should be till 12:00.

Day 2

Funchal (Poiso / Pico Do Areeiro / Ribeiro Frio / Santana / Faial / Porto Da Cruz / Ponta De São Lourenço / Machico)

Breakfast at the hotel. At a time to be informed locally, departure towards Poiso and from there ascent to the second highest mountain of the island, Pico do Areeiro. Next, we descend to Ribeiro Frio, right in the center of the ‘Laurissilva Forest’. A 45-minute walk along the Levada da Serra do Faial to the Miradouro dos Balcões with its stunning landscape over the deep valley. Continuing on the circuit to Santana, where one can see the typical houses of this town. Stop for lunch (drinks included). After lunch and on the way back to Funchal, passing through the parishes of Faial and Porto da Cruz. Continuing towards Ponta de São Lourenço, which is the easternmost point of Madeira with its spectacular rock formations in a unique landscape over the sea. Continuing to Machico. Return to the hotel, accommodation.

Day 3

Funchal (Câmara De Lobos / Cabo Girão / Ribeira Brava / Ponta Do Sol / Paúl Da Serra / Porto Moniz / São Vicente / Chão Dos Louros / Serra D’água)

Breakfast at the hotel. At a time to be informed locally, departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village) and Cabo Girão, the highest promontory in Europe. Continuing along the southern coast, stop at the village of Ribeira Brava. After this stop, we proceed towards Ponta do Sol with a stop in Lugar de Baixo for a visit to BAM (The Madeira Banana Centre), a museum that will guide you through the history of the Banana, one of Madeira’s trademarks. Continue to Paúl da Serra, a plateau situated at 1,400 m altitude, heading towards Porto Moniz. Stop by the sea to admire the natural pools formed by volcanic rock. We proceed towards São Vicente and stop for lunch (drinks included). In the afternoon, we cross the island from North/South on the descent to Funchal, we will also pass through the parish of Serra d’Água.

Return to the hotel. At a time to be informed locally, departure for dinner at a local restaurant to enjoy the true Madeiran “Espetada” (drinks included) and watch a performance by a folklore group of Madeiran dances and songs. Afterwards, a brief stop to admire Funchal at night. Return to the hotel, accommodation.

Day 4

Funchal (City Center)

Breakfast at the hotel. At around 09:00, departure towards the city center. Free time. As a suggestion, take this opportunity to take the cable car (self-paid) and descend in the traditional basket sleds to Livramento (activity not included, subject to local payment). At around 11 o’clock, visit to the oldest wine cellars of Madeira, the Madeira Wine Company, followed by a wine tasting. The rest of the day is free for shopping in the city center or simply strolling through the old squares or the marina of Funchal. If the client wishes to return to the hotel at the end of the visit, they should inform the guide. At a time to be communicated locally, transfer to the airport from the hotel. Assistance with boarding formalities and end of our services.

Note: In order to comply with the day’s schedule, departure from Funchal on this day should be from 16:00.
