This 7-day tour takes you to Barcelona and Madrid. Beginning in Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia and the city of Gaudi, you have the opportunity to view some of Gaudi’s greatest accomplishments. A train ride takes us to Madrid, the capital city and home of the famous Prado Museum.

Day 1 Arrival in Barcelona
Welcome to Barcelona, a city that is both modern and ancient and with a history among the oldest in Europe. On arrival in Barcelona, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore on your own.
Day 2 in Barcelona
Discover Barcelona at your own pace with a hop-on, hop-off bus tour. There are three different routes and 44 stops. In the evening consider joining an optional Tablao El Cordobes Flamenco show with dinner at a well-known Flamenco show venue. (B)
Day 3 in Barcelona
The entire day is free at leisure. You may be interested in our optional tours to Monserrat, an important religious shrine and the national symbol of Catalonia. Next is Girona, a city in northern Catalonia where you can take part in a Game of Thrones tour. Located 100 km north of Barcelona, Girona is a must for any Game of Thrones fan. Or there is a tour to Girona, Figueres and Dali. (B)
Day 4 from Barcelona to Madrid
After breakfast transfer on your own to the Barcelona train station where you will board a high-speed train to Madrid. Upon arrival in Madrid, transfer on your own to your hotel. The balance of the day is free to discover on your own. (B)
Day 5 in Madrid
Today enjoy the open-top double-decker hop-on, hop-off bus tour. Two routes cover the highlights from historical sites and monuments to the modern Madrid of skyscrapers and cosmopolitan architecture. In the evening, you may consider joining an optional “Tapas walking tour” or a “Flamenco Show & dinner. (B)
Day 6, in Madrid
The entire day is free at leisure. Some optional tours or visits worth considering including Toledo to discover the city of three cultures; a tour of Avila, and Segovia to discover the Royal Escorial, the Valley of the Fallen or the Royal Palace in Aranjuez. (B)
Day 7, depart from Madrid
Your Independent Journey ends today and you will be transferred to the Madrid airport. (B)
