The Galilee located in Northern Israel divided into the Upper, Lower and Western Galilee is mentioned numerous times in the Bible as the recorded location of many Biblical events. Attracting many pilgrims over the years, the area is rich in Biblical history since many important Biblical sites such as Mount Tabor, Tabgha, Capernaum and Megiddo are located here. Follow in His footsteps as the pages of the Bible come alive.

Day 1 Wednesday Ben Gurion Airport / Jerusalem
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day 2 Thursday Beit She’an / Nazareth / Safed
Leaving Jerusalem we drive north passing Jericho located in the Jordan Valley thought to be one of the oldest cities in the world and the site of the historic Battle of Jericho. Continuing through the Jordan Valley and the new settlements we come to Beit She’an historically known as Scythopolis where we visit the excavations of this beautifully preserved Roman City. On to Nazareth where Jesus spent His childhood. This is one of the most important Christian sites in the Holyland. Visit the Church of the Annunciation built on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary. You will also have a chance to see other Christian holy sites such as Joseph’s Workshop and Mary’s Well. Next is Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism and Kabbalah with its ancient synagogues and the Artist Quarter lined with galleries and workshops. Overnight in a kibbutz hotel in the Galilee. B
Day 3 Friday Golan Heights / Sea of Galilee
Drive up to the strategic Golan Heights passing Banias (Caesarea Philippi), the source of the Jordan River with former Syrian fortifications and Druze villages. Enjoy an Israeli wine country experience with vineyards surrounded by breathtaking views. Become acquainted with the collection of fine and rare wines enjoying a tour, wine tasting and an understanding of the wine production process. Descending to the shore of the Sea of Galilee we arrive at the fishing village of Capernaum known as “His Town”, the center of Jesus Ministry where He spent much time healing the sick and performing miracles. See the ruins of the 2nd century synagogue built of white limestone from the hills of the Galilee. Moving on we come to the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus recounted the eight blessings of the Beatitudes. At the foot of the Mount of Beatitudes is Tabgha, the traditional site of the ‘Miracle of the Loaves and Fish’ where we stop at the Church of the Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor depicting a basket with loaves and two fish. Onwards to Tiberias named after the Roman Emperor situated on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee and an old center of Jewish learning. There is an opportunity for an optional 45-minute cruise along the tranquil waters of the sea where life has changed little during the past 2000 years (subject to weather conditions). Return to the kibbutz hotel for overnight. B
Day 4 Saturday Acre / Haifa / Caesarea / Tel Aviv
Following breakfast, we drive through the hills of the Galilee westward to Acre (Akko) with its long cultural history for a visit of the old Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. On arrival in Haifa, we ascend Mount Carmel for a panoramic view of the city and Haifa Bay. View the Baha’i Shrine built in 1953 where the remains of the founder of the Babi faith (the Bab) are buried. The Shrine is the world headquarters of the Baha’i faith. The nine sides of the shrine represent the nine major religions of the world. Its golden dome covered with 14,000 gold-coated bricks. Comprised of a staircase featuring nineteen terraces, each of the gardens offers a different and unique experience. Travel along the Mediterranean Coast to Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region we visit the Roman Theater and Crusader Fortress known as “the masterpiece of Herod the Great”. End the day with a short tour of Tel Aviv and the ancient port of Jaffa. Overnight Tel Aviv B
Day 5 Sunday Tel Aviv / Ben Gurion Airport
After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure. Today marks the end of your journey. B
