Day 1. Helsinki, Finland

Your adventure begins with a one-night stay in Helsinki, Finland’s capital.
Pre-expedition hotel Hilton Helsinki Vantaa for the first night accommodation with breakfast is located at Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport, so arrival transfers are not necessary.

On arrival at the hotel, you will receive a welcome letter outlining the departure information for the following day’s flight. Our representative will be available in the lobby of the hotel from 12:00 noon until the last expected clients arrival to answer any questions about the charter flight(s) scheduled for the following morning.

Day 3. Northbound in the Arctic Ocean

Get acquainted with the ship, its crew and facilities. Explore a number of wonderful amenities on board, such as the ship’s lap pool or basketball court.

Throughout the voyage regular briefings will allow the Expedition Leader and Team to provide you with information about upcoming landings and any itinerary changes that may occur.

Day 4. Northbound in the Arctic Ocean

The anticipation reaches a culmination as you arrive at the North Pole! Find yourself overcome with emotion. Take photos, call your family, wave a flag— just be sure you enjoy your moment at the top! Later, everyone will celebrate with a champagne toast and a barbecue on the ice.

If the opportunity allows, experience the North Pole in a way few will ever experience – soaring above the Arctic in a hot air balloon! (not included)
Another option to enhance festive and celebratory mood is taking a polar plunge into the icy waters around the North Pole.

Day 8. Southbound in the Arctic Ocean

As soon as the North Pole triumphed over, enjoy the day at leisure. Share your fillings with your teammates and relax. As you head farther south, you may get lucky and spot polar bears hunting for seals.

Day 9. Arctic Circle Exploration

Day 10. Zodiac Cruising & Shore program

Conditions permitting, launch the Zodiacs will take off. Don’t miss the adventure of cruising beneath towering cliffs to explore remote seabird colonies . The 50 Years of Victory helicopter will provide aerial sightseeing (not included), and the Zodiacs will transfer you to seldom-visited landing sites.

Enjoy your time on deck or reminisce with your shipmates and new friends as you cross the Arctic Ocean back to Murmansk. Expedition staff will be on hand to answer any remaining questions and point out wildlife during the return journey.

Enjoy various options of daily outdoor activities – a great way to experience the beauty of the Arctic in a more personal way. Weather permitting hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking at your choice is available.

Day 13. Disembarkation in Murmansk

Upon returning to Russia’s most northerly city, your ship is scheduled to arrive back at the pier in Murmansk, between 7 am and 8 am local time. After breakfast, and once the ship has docked, you will have time to bid farewell to your Expedition Team and shipmates before completing your disembarkation. The process takes about an hour.

After disembarkation, you will transfer to the airport for the return charter flight to Helsinki.
Upon arrival in Helsinki, there will be a group transfer to your included post-expedition hotel Hilton Helsinki Strand.
Please note: Weather conditions can always delay the arrival, and airline schedule changes have also been known to occur.

Day 14. Journey’s end

Post Cruise Options

After breakfast, your journey comes to an end. You may make your way to the airport to connect with your homeward flight, or stay longer if you have booked additional accommodation. Take an advantage to exploring Helsinki, Tallinn (the capital of Estonia) and Saint Petersburg.

A departure transfer to the airport is not provided from the downtown hotel at the end of your stay in Helsinki.

Important remarks:
  1. Embracing the unexpected is part of the legacy—and excitement—of expedition travel. When traveling in extremely remote regions, your expedition staff must allow the sea, the ice and the weather to guide route and itinerary details. This itinerary is a tentative outline of what you’ll experience on this voyage. Please be aware that no specific itinerary can be guaranteed.
  2. Baggage allowance on charter flights is 44 lbs (20 kg) checked and 11 lbs (5 kg) carry-on. There is no option to pay and take more.
  3. A group transfer for your luggage will be arranged from the airport to the ship on the day of embarkation. The group luggage transfer is also provided to Murmansk airport on disembarkation day.
  4. If you have booked your expedition on a single occupancy basis, you will be in a single room during your hotel stay. If you have opted to participate in the Request-Share program, you will share your hotel room. If you prefer to be in single room for the hotel night, it can be arranged upon payment of a supplement.
  5. Your schedule of activities, presentations, meal hours and films is usually posted one day in advance. The daily program notices and the itineraries are meant only as guides.

  • Valid Russian visa
  • Medical insurance covering a minimum of $50,000 USD
  • In addition to the preliminary documents mentioned above, you will receive your final documents via email about four weeks prior to our scheduled departure. Final documents will be sent once all of the required expedition forms is submitted and payments is completed in full.
