Day 1: Sofia

Transfer from the airport and check into your hotel. Free time to relax before meeting your fellow travelers and Tour Director for a Welcome Dinner. [D]

Day 2: Sofia

Discover the highlights of Sofia on a morning tour. Visit the National History Museum where gold and silver Thracian treasures are displayed, and see the Alexander Nevski Cathedral and Crypt. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. [B]

Day 3: Nis-Belgrade

Cross into Serbia and head to Nis, one of Europe’s oldest cities and the third largest city in Serbia. Discover the highlights of the city and take a lunch break before travelling to Belgrade. Tonight enjoy your dinner with live music in a typical restaurant in the old Bohemian quarter of Skadarlija. [B, L, D]

Day 4: Belgrade

Start your day with a sightseeing tour and visit the imposing Kalemegdan Fortress, dramatically set at the confluence of the Sava and Danube Rivers. See Republic Square and Knez Mihajlova Street, Saint Sava Temple, the largest Orthodox Church in the city, and Tito’s Memorial. The rest of the day is free. [B]

Day 5: Novi Sad

Travel to the beautiful city of Novi Sad. On a walking tour see the major attractions, including the Petrovaradin Fortress, Liberty Square and the Cathedral. Continue to Timisoara, the city where the Romanian revolution started in 1989. View the ruins of Timisoara Fortress, Huniade Castle, Pasha’s Wheel, the Fabric residential area and Corso shopping area. [B, D]

Day 6: Timisoara

Traveling east, stop in for a visit to the Fortress of Hunedoara which became the castle of King Matthias Corvin in the late 15th century. The architecture is unique and has different construction styles as well as the presence of military and civil innovations. Continue to the city of Sibiu founded in the 12th century. [B,D]

Day 7: Sibiu

Take a sightseeing tour of Sibiu, once the richest town in Transylvania. See the Huet Square, the Great Square, the Evangelical Cathedral, Liar’s Bridge and more. Continue to Sighisoara, the best preserved medieval city in the Southeastern Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage site. During your city tour visit the famous Clock Tower Museum. Continue to Brasov, where a walking tour includes a visit to the First Romanian School Museum with an impressive collection of rare books, documents and art. [B, D]

Day 8: Brasov

Head to Bran for a visit to Bran Castle, made famous by Bram Stoker’s novel as the residence of the sinister vampire, Count Dracula. Continue toward Bucharest stopping in Sinaia to visit Peles Castle, built as the summer residence of King Carol I Afterward, visit the beautiful 17th century Sinaia Monastery. Arrive in Bucharest also known as «Little Paris». [B, D]

Day 9: Bucharest

Get acquainted with the Romanian capital on a sightseeing tour. Visit the Parliament Palace, one of the largest buildings in the world. Learn how the Romanian people finally succeeded in toppling the last communist dictator in Eastern Europe at the Revolution Square. See the Romanian Athenaeum, the Opera House, the National Military Club, the Military Academy, Triumphal Arch, and the Village Museum. Celebrate your Balkan Adventure tonight with a Farewell Dinner and a folklore show. [B, D]

Day 10: Bucharest

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. [B]
